Chairperson

MIKE HENDERSON

Mike has been involved with the Seaview Business Association since 2013. He has worked continuously in Seaview and Gracefield for close to 30 years and is the Wellington Branch Manager of Efficient Moving and Storage, a 65 year family owned furniture removal business domiciled in Napier.

He opened the Wellington branch in 1995 and it has grown to be in the top 10% of transport companies by fleet size in New Zealand thanks to good management and practices. Mike believes SBA is highly invaluable because it is able to engage with other business owners and managers with a common view in promoting and advocating for the Seaview and Gracefield industrial and commercial areas across greater Wellington, using a variety of methods with ongoing development. It is also a pathway to Council for those unsure or unable to access services and advice.

Treasurer

Carl Longstaff

Carl is the Managing Director of Metal Art which was established in Seaview 30 years ago. He has been involved with SBA and its predecessor Seaview Working Group (SWiG) for at least 8 years, and was a previous Treasurer for a number of those years helping work on the submissions for the Port Road Seawalls to Greater Wellington Regional Council and Hutt City Council.

Carl believes the SBA gives a greater voice for the business community to local government than individual businesses can achieve on their own.  He also says it provides a range of activities for local businesses to get to know each other. According to Carl, Seaview is a great place to work because it has easy and quick access through to Wellington and the Hutt Valley, has a huge range of businesses and is close to home for most of his team members.

Co-ordinator

Jen Houdalakis

Jen Houdalakis is the Co-ordinator for the Seaview Business Association. Jen lives with her family in Lower Hutt and is especially thrilled to be working in Seaview.

As the Co-ordinator for SBA, Jen is the voice to the Hutt City Council for the Seaview business district area, supporting the SBA business district to work together to benefit from each other while working to raise the profile of the area.
